Digital Media Projects Ltd (DMP) was founded in 2005 with the mission to develop next-generation broadcast media delivery systems. DMP designs and develops advanced media management and distribution platforms primarily for broadcast, corporate and retail market verticals. Using cutting-edge technologies, our range of products and services are designed to satisfy the growing demand for media delivery across the globe, and our solutions are relied upon by FTSE100 companies and in broadcast, corporate, retail, military and government institutions.

History

DMP was founded in 2005 primarily to serve small to medium corporate network infrastructure and media delivery platforms, but it struggled to find cost-effective solutions that met the exacting demands of its clients. Available products were expensive, too focussed and inflexible. The decision was made to develop a range of products and services that were dynamic and cost-effective, with capability to compete with the best the IPTV and digital signage industry had to offer. Within nine months the first product was complete, a platform designed entirely in house. In November 2006, the network infrastructure arm was divested and DMP began to focus entirely on broadcast media solutions. That focus has paid dividends, with many high-profile clients gained and strong new products and services being added to DMP’s portfolio on a regular basis.

People

Norman Finnigan – Business Development Manager

Norman has spent many years as an executive director of major UK companies. He was a key figure in the merger of Grattan and Freemans in 1999 – businesses with a combined turnover of over £1 billion. Norman now brings his considerable experience to bear in helping DMP to plan and manage its growth strategy.

Trevor Jones – Financial Director

Trevor co-founded the independent financial advisers Pearson Jones plc, one of the largest firms in the North East with £1bn funds under management. The firm is now part of Skipton Building Society, and Trevor continues to advise wealthy private clients.

Nicholas Fearnley – Founder and CEO

Nicholas graduated in 1998 from Aston University (UK) with a BSc Hons in computer science. He initially worked with research machines in providing education administration systems, before moving to CAPS Leeds (subsequently Mellon Bank and now Bank of New York) where he worked as a project manager, responsible for a team of people developing investment analysis products. Whilst driving DMP’s vision, Nicholas still gets heavily involved in system development and is responsible for architecting new concepts and ideas.

Peter Hill – Technical Director

Peter graduated in 1998 from Manchester University (UK) with a MSc in computing and BSc Hons in physics. He initially worked with Polymer Laboratories (UK) where he was a systems developer, and he joined Mellon Bank (Leeds) in 2001 where he worked with Nicholas developing investment analysis products. Peter’s main role at DMP is turning concepts and ideas into viable products.
